Electronic Data Discovery Overview
With the ongoing transition into the digital era, more and more critical information is now being stored electronically instead of on paper. WWD's electronic data discovery solution allows you to efficiently acquire these important pieces of electronically stored information (ESI) for your case matter, utilizing customized processes for each project according to your needs.
The four stages of WWD's typical EDD project are listed below (click on each icon for more details):
- Processing
Before the customer begins examining any of the electronic data, the data can be run through our customized processing routine, which performs several automated tasks including metadata/text extraction, de-duplication, filetype exclusions, and other custom tasks as specified by the client.
- Analysis
After the source files have been processed, reports can be generated to reveal important characteristics and trends in the data to help target the relevant information.
- Review
The electronic documents are now reviewed for content, aided by helpful tools such as fulltext searching and other custom search algorithms, and email thread aggregation. Relevant documents are tagged for production or exclusion.
- Production
Relevant documents and their associated data are produced either in their native format or in an image based format for loading into common litigation support software such as Summation™ or Concordance® for more extensive internal review.
